Instructions
Select the iCoupler part and speed grade of interest from the pulldowns at top left. In general, speed grade only affects the maximum data rate for the selected part.
For each channel, enter the switching speed in either Mbps or MHz (For NRZ signaling MHz is 1/2 of Mbps) and the output load capacitance in the appropriate fields.
Enter the supply voltages in Vdd1 and Vdd2.
After a group of fields has been changed, hit "Enter" or click "Update" to accept the changes. Fields that have been changed but not yet accepted are outlined with a black box.
If an input is out of range or results in an calculation error, a yellow alert will appear at the bottom of the calculator. Results are not provided when data rate or supply voltage exceeds the maximum for the selected part. Results are provided when load capacitance exceeds the specifications; however, these results are provided for information purposes only.
In addition to current consumption, the increase in "case" temperature is provided. This is the increase in package temperature over ambient due to the selected part operating under the specified conditions.
Results are typical at 25°C and should not be construed as limits.
